Goettl Air Conditioning recently closed a deal that will enable the company to operate in South California. According to a post on Arch News where the news was first released, Goettl acquired HVAC Company Walton’s Heating and Air that is based out of Southern California. Financial details of the acquisition were not released, but Walton’s owner Todd Longbrake revealed that he had taken the family owned business as far as he possibly could and that the business had since stagnated. The deal is expected to help Walton’s to grow and also provide Goettl with an opportunity to advance and solidify its presence in California.
Currently, Goettl Air Conditioning operates in Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas. Goettl had presented the offer to acquire Walton’s in early 2015, but Todd Longbrake rejected the offer. The deal was, however, finalized in mid-2015 after Longbrake decided to give it a chance following comments about Goettl and Ken Goodrich from individuals in HVAC industry.
Ken Goodrich, owner of Goettl Air Conditioning recently announced the acquisition despite the deal being completed two years ago. It was done in light of operational and marketing issues within Walton’s that required to be addressed before the announcement. According to Goodrich, Walton’s had similar family background with those of Goettl, and he viewed the acquisition as an opportunity for Goettl to grow. The acquisition presents Goettl Air Conditioning with an additional 200 employees to add to its current 306 especially in Tucson and Phoenix where Goettl has the largest markets. Goodrich noted that their long-range goal is to make Goettl a national brand. Goettl Air Conditioning is expected to expand into Texas by 2018 following its recent expansion into North California.
